It isn't that i'm so terribly fascinated with throwing tomatoes at people (though I would like to attend La Tomatina someday). I wanted to get the perfect shot- just after the tomato leaves the thrower's hand, with the thrower's hand still in the shot. I took just under 100 pictures to get these 8, which I think are the best of the lot. What makes a good shot, in my opinion, isn't so much what's happening, but what's about to happen (see cat vs rabbit). The 3rd shot would have been better if the kid's arm hadn't moved so far away, but there's some really nice spiraling splatter coming from the tomato, sort of like a galactic arm. The 5th one is the closest I got to the perfect shot. I included the full-resolution versions below because one of the guys working the booth expressed an interest.
